SPA TEN

On the 10th floor of the highly stylised, hip Siam@Siam Design Hotel & Spa, only minutes away from the National Stadium BTS station, is @Spa Ten. The spa, which prides itself in “making our guests feel 10/10!” is the perfect place to unwind after a day of shopping along Bangkok’s premier shopping mile.
The decor of predominantly raw concrete with bold accents is softened by touches of the Orient in warm natural tones and tropical greenery against dark wood furniture. Fourteen treatment rooms consisting of seven singles, four two-bed treatment suites, a communal Thai massage room with six treatment beds and a private loofah scrub room can accommodate different sized groups across 1,200 square metres. Steam rooms and jacuzzis located in the changing area are available for guests to enjoy before or after treatments.

Opened in January 2007, this is a new entrant to the growing supply of spa and health facilities. Spa Ten markets itself as the first to focus on offering updated versions of traditional Thai treatments using its own house-brand products. Thai Local Rituals includes a selection of herb, oil and non-oil Thai massage plus acupressure and foot treatments. Three other massage treatments are available. Scalp Massage stimulates blood flow in the upper back, shoulders, neck and scalp to nourish the brain and induce serenity. Foot Acupressure serves to stimulate the body’s ownhealing and balancing process. The spa’s signature offering, SIB Massage Therapy, is referred to as a “freestyle” massage because there are nostandardised massage procedures. During the pre-treatment consultation, guests are asked to indicate the general purpose of the treatment, such as to relax, energise or to help ease particular problem areas such as back pain. The therapist will then tailor the massage to the guest’s needs, using techniques as required.

Spa Ten offers a variety of scrubs, wraps and bath therapies Scrubs include Thai Herbal, Cucumber and Coconut Scrubs as well as Thai Fruit Body Smoother, which are recommended to be followed by Mud Body Wrap. To round off, there is a selection of five soaks which comes with a complimentary beverage. Essentia l Oil helps to de-stress, relax or energise, while Citrus Bath invigorates. Heavenly Cleopatra Milk Bath adds honey and rose petals to soften, nourish and beautify the skin. To calm the mind and aid sleep with a cup of chamomile tea, choose Thai Flower Bath, enhanced with local flowers and aromatic essential oils. Couples can book Romance Bath for two with sparkling wine, and enjoy a jacuzzi bath with ylang ylang essential oils in a romantic candle-lit room.

Dermalogica’s spa facial and body treatments are offered for fans of this internationally renowned brand. Among these are Rebalancing, Multivitamin and Skin Brightening facials that improve general skin tone by reducing hyper-pigm entation and fine lines while boosting moisture and elasticity levels. Dermalogica body-care treatments include Mineral Salt Scrub and Drainage Massage to improve the skin’s appearance.
